CHARLES CITY – Charles City’s second of the 2014 Party in the Park series is set for Friday, June 13, 2014, in Central Park from 5-9 p.m. This week’s festivities are sponsored by Charles City Electronics, Central Park Dentistry, McDonald’s, Valero and Viafield.
Friday’s Party in the Park will feature inflatable fun with the Titanic Thrill Slide and Boulder Dash. Several other kids’ activities have been planned, including pedal car races, free make-and-take bracelets, duck shoot game, minute to win it games, bounce house, ring toss, mini-golf and more.
The band Time and a Half will be traveling from La Crosse, Wisconsin to perform with their signature mix of classic rock and country that will keep the crowd dancing all night.
Other 2014 Party in the Park events will be held on June 27th, July 11th, July 25th and August 8th. Events are held every other Friday during the summer months from 5-9 p.m. in Central Park. There is no admission charge. Families can join in the fun with various children’s games and activities offered at each event. Food and beverages are available for purchase throughout the evening with Party in the Park’s “Chuck Chip” currency. This year’s Chuck Chips are being sponsored by Mitas. Chuck Chips may be obtained from the “Chuck Chip Table” near the center of the park or from volunteers in red Chuck aprons stationed throughout the park during the events. Chuck Chips are also available at the Community Development Office at 401 N. Main Street, Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm.
The Party in the Park events are a function of Charles City Community Revitalization, Charles City’s Main Street Iowa program.
