Former University of Iowa President Mary Sue Coleman has found herself in some hot water since giving a speech at a football game Saturday where many believe she was drunk.

Coleman, now the president at the University of Michigan, delivered a slurred-rant Saturday during Michigan’s home game loss to Nebraska, saying how great Michigan and its coaches are and profusely thanking the crowd.

According to one online pundit, “Let’s just say, if you’ve heard people who’ve had a few too many drinks try to give a speech, it sounded a whole lot like Coleman was drunk.”

A University of Michigan spokesman said Monday that Coleman’s speech sounded slurred because of “microphone feedback” and that she had not been drinking prior to addressing the crowd of well over 100,000. “She struggled with the feedback and tried to adjust to the sound delay and the reverberation by slowing down her words.”

Coleman left for India on Monday, a Michigan-based website reported.

Hard to tell, but I think she was sober, but it sure sounded like she was having some type of medical issue.

Not drunk!! That’s my opinion too, LVS. Whatever it was, hopefully it has passed.

Stone sober

It could of been a Medical condition. Stroke?
