MASON CITY — A Mason City woman was arrested Saturday evening after police say a traffic stop led to allegations of drunk driving, speeding and an open container violation.
According to Mason City police records, officers conducted a traffic stop at 4:57 p.m. on May 23, 2026, near East State Street and South Kentucky Avenue in Mason City. The stop resulted in the arrest of Kari Lyn Riordan, 48, of Mason City.
Riordan was charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated, speeding in a 55 mph or under zone at 6 through 10 mph over the limit, and open container as a driver age 21 or older, according to the Mason City Police Department arrest log and Cerro Gordo County Jail records.
Riordan was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail at 6:31 p.m. Saturday. Jail records showed she remained in custody Sunday morning.
Bond information listed in jail records included $1,000 cash or surety on the OWI charge, along with cash-only amounts of $503.50 and $149.88 in the defendant’s name for the other alleged offenses.
Riordan is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
