IOWA CITY – Iowa will be a team to watch and likely be on the rise in 2023, a prominent ESPN writer says, as the Hawkeyes add a new quarterback, receivers, a beefier “D” and incentives to offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz’s contract.
Iowa’s 2022 season was a mild success after beating SEC middler Kentucky in the Music City Bowl last month, 21-0. But the offense was dormant even as head coach Kirk Ferentz seemed pleased with the output.
This coming season, Iowa will feature Cade McNamara, a former Michigan quarterback who joined program in spring, 2023, as a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility remaining. Iowa is also adding new receivers and a prominent graduate transfer linebacker in Nick Jackson from Virginia.
