Virginia L. Haberkamp, 88, of Garner, died Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Summit House in Britt.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the United Presbyterian Church in Garner with Pastor David Skilling officiating. Burial will be at Concord Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E.4th St., Garner and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the United Presbyterian Church or St. Croix Hospice.
Virginia Louise Haberkamp, the daughter of Roy and Mildred (Stewart) Quintus, was born January 18, 1934, on a farm southeast of Garner. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Presbyterian Church in Garner. Virginia graduated from Garner High School in 1951. On December 28, 1951, she was married to Harlan Haberkamp at the United Presbyterian Church. They farmed southwest of Garner where they raised their four children. Virginia was an equal partner in the farming operation helping Harlan wherever she was needed. Later in life she was employed in the produce department at Bill’s Red Owl. In their retirement, Virginia and Harlan wintered in Texas for many years. She enjoyed baking, word find puzzles, camping and most of all, spending time with her family.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, UPW and a Homemaker’s Club.
Virginia is survived by her four children, Peg (Bill) Adams of Garner, Ron (Denise) Haberkamp of Garner, Rich (Sue) Haberkamp of West Des Moines and Sharon (Mark) Katuin of Ames; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lynne Quintus of Garner, Mary Eisenmann of Madison, WI, Verneil Quintus of Garner and Muriel Haberkamp of Garner; a brother-in-law, Douglas (Marilyn) Jass of Garner; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan; her parents; two great grandsons; two sisters, Margaret Allen and Dorothy Jeter; and four brothers, Dean, Jim, Jerry and Donald Quintus.
