Barn destroyed in fire Monday near Northwood (photos)

RURAL WORTH COUNTY – A barn fire caused serious damage Monday evening near Northwood.

Around 6:10 PM Monday evening, an emergency call was made by the owner of a barn at 4665 Spruce Avenue for a fire. The barn is located just east of Northwood off of Highway 105.

By the time the firefighters were able to get to the barn, it was already down. A firefighter from Grafton said that the Northwood firefighters were over in Grafton helping them with a fire. “They barely had time to fill back up with water before heading to this one. Our truck was still full, so we brought it over.”

“The wind is not our friend,” said the firefighter.
