MASON CITY – Law enforcement stopped a speeding drunk driver early Wednesday morning in Mason City.
A Cerro Gordo county deputy conducted a traffic stop on a speeding driver Wednesday morning, January 10 at about 1:40 AM near 12th Street NE and Carolina Avenue. As a result of the stop, the driver, 31-year-old April Leigh Ferry of Mason City was arrested for speeding (6-10 mph over the limit) and second-offense operating while intoxicated. She was given a warning for a bad brake light.
Ferry was jailed and soon released, pending a court date.
Ferry was also caught drunk driving back in 2006 in Mason City. She completed a substance abuse program and paid $1,840.00 in fines and court fees.
