MASON CITY – A Clear Lake man who allegedly brandished a knife and threatened others with it skipped two court dates and is now being held in jail after police finally caught up with him.
Victor Rivera, age 46, charged with felony D going armed with intent and felony B first degree burglary, skipped a preliminary hearing on February 7th and then an arraignment on February 17th. He had posted $1,000 bond on February 4th. Warrants were issued for his arrest, and Cerro Gordo county deputies caught up with him on February 25th.
On Saturday, February 1, 2014, Clear Lake police said Rivera brandished a large knife at an apartment complex and threatened to harm others. He later entered an apartment with the knife searching for a man he had been fighting with. Police arrived and physically restrained Rivera and took him to jail.
Rivera now awaits another arraignment hearing on March 3rd. He is being held on $50,000 cash-only bond in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
