FORT DODGE – A missing Iowa woman has been found deceased, and two people have been charged with first-degree murder for her death.
On August 14, 2017, an autopsy was conducted at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny, Iowa, for a deceased female that was found near Clare, Iowa, on Saturday, August 12, 2017. The State Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified the deceased as Jessica Lyne Gomez, age 26 of Fort Dodge. Final autopsy results will not be available for several weeks. Gomez was previously listed as a missing person in an investigation conducted by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Dodge Police Department, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, and Indiana law enforcement.
Phillip Anthony Williams, 25, of Lafayette, Indiana, and Mackenzie Lee Knigge, 26, of Clare, Iowa, have been charged with Murder in the First Degree in connection with Jessica Gomez’s death. Williams and Knigge are currently in custody.
