Progress Iowa releases new video “Justice Nice” featuring the “Iowa Nice Guy”

Video calls for voters to turn over their ballot and vote Yes on Iowa’s Judges –

DES MOINES — Progress Iowa today released a new video titled “Justice Nice,” calling for Iowans to reject the politicization of Iowa courts, turn over their ballots and vote Yes on Iowa’s Judges. Justice Nice features “Iowa Nice Guy” (played by Scott Siepker), and honors Iowa’s tradition of equality in a way only he can. You can watch the video here.

“Politics in the courtroom is just a bad idea,” said Matt Sinovic, executive director of Progress Iowa. “We want Iowans to know what’s at stake in November — if out of state special interest groups and politicians are allowed to intimidate our judges, they’ll become no better than your average politician. We have good judges in Iowa, and we can protect them by voting yes.”

The ‘Yes on Retention’ campaign has received support from a variety of Iowans in recent days and weeks, including:

“The last thing we want in Iowa is a court that is engaged in political campaigns, raising money from PACs, and worried about their poll numbers. We especially do not want them responding to threats from bullies.”
Chris Rants, former Republican Speaker of the House

“The Bible instructs us to pray for those in leadership in government, and I and my church intend to continue to pray for honest men like Judge Wiggins, who will keep to the principles and responsibilities of his office even at the risk of his own job security.”

– Pastor Ed Kraft, Grace Community Church

In addition to releasing “Justice Nice” Progress Iowa launched a website where Iowans can pledge to keep politics out of Iowa courts. Both the video and the online pledge can be found here; or by visiting http://bit.ly/justicenice
