Floyd County Community Foundation distributes over $137,000 to local nonprofit organizations

Grant recipients gathered for the Floyd County Community Foundation’s 2021 grant awards celebration on January 12 at the Floyd County Fairgrounds where $137,589.74 in grant funding was awarded to 23 projects of organizations serving Floyd County.

CHARLES CITY – The Floyd County Community Foundation (FCCF) held its 2021 grant awards celebration at the Floyd County Fairgrounds on January 12, announcing the distribution of $137,589.74 to 23 projects of organizations serving Floyd County through its 2021 grant cycle.

“The Floyd County Community Foundation is thrilled to support these 23 projects that are working to strengthen communities across Floyd County,” said Amy Staudt, chair of the FCCF governing committee.

Decisions on grant awards are determined by a local committee, which consists of volunteers from Floyd County. Committee members include: Sue Bortz, Lisa Garden, Randy Heitz, Kurt Hoeft, Sheila Koudelka, Jane Larson, Tracy Merfeld, Amy Staudt, Teresa Stevens-Marth and Erika Troyna.

Grants are awarded through FCCF’s competitive grant process to projects in the program areas of arts and culture, community betterment, education and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health, and human service. Grant applicants must be a 501(c)(3) designated organization or government entity serving Floyd County in order to be considered for funding. The 2022 grant cycle opens August 15 with an application deadline of September 30. The grant guidelines and application can be found at
