DES MOINES — The following statement was issued on Thursday, Sept. 6 after Congressman Steve King said showmanship is his “job” in Congress during a debate on WHO Radio:
“Steve King just doesn’t get it. Iowa needs leadership, not showmanship,” said Matt Sinovic, executive director of Progress Iowa. “We need him to get a farm bill passed. We need more jobs that pay better. And we need quality, affordable health care. We don’t need a conservative cheerleader, we need a leader.”

Steve King is a very intelligent guy. He will destroy Vilsack in the debates. I encourage you to actually take an open mind and not just listen to politically biased sources like progressiowa.com and yes, northiowatoday.com
I beg to differ concerning whether King will destroy Vilsack in the debates. I think he’ll show his true colors, which don’t exactly add up to a beautiful rainbow.
Correct me if I am wrong but I do believe they have already debated twice. Christie did a very good job. Of course I think 90% of Iowans could win a debate with King. If he is intelligent he hides it very well.
We can’t afford to elect Vilsack. The tax and spend politicians are ruining the country borrowing money from China. You should worry about your children’s America. It’s irresponsible and anyone that votes for her is irresponsible and too lazy to get informed about finances. I’m not a Democrat or Republican but know we need to get the spending under control. That is a priority.
I agree with some of what you said. Controlling spending is important, but King is an embassament to all Iowans. He is one of the teapublican terrorists. He has to go. No one takes him seriously. he is the laughing stock of the house. We need CV. She will be a well respected member of the house and will do a great job of representing all Iowans.
Will she stop the spending? Her husband is an embarassment to the state of Iowa. When he is so for the Pigford settlement cases where people can claim they tried to farm and don’t need to have ANY PROOF and can collect $50,000 and there is no recourse to go after any fraud. Now that is embarassing and he is the one that is supposed to have the brains in the family. God help us all if we elect her.

King is an idiot for what? Wanting the federal government to pass a budget? (There has not been one since Oblaimer was elected.) For trying to make Eric Holder responsible for his contempt of congress charges? I could name a few more but lets start with those Mr. Happy.
