Iowa Author to Visit NIACC Tuesday

MASON CITY – A well-known author of crime fiction will visit the campus of North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) to host a public discussion about his experiences as an author.

Don Harstad, an American novelist and former police officer specializing in crime fiction and police procedurals, will be at NIACC Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from noon to 1:00 p.m. The discussion will be held in the Activity Center room 101 on the NIACC campus.

The public is invited. Bring your lunch and learn about the novels that are set in northeast Iowa and are best sellers in London and Paris. Harstad is a former Deputy Sheriff of Clayton County, Iowa.

He has used his investigative background expertise to author several books.  His bestselling novels are The Big Thaw, Code 61, Known Dead, A Long December, and Eleven Days.
