WATERLOO – Waterloo police confirmed that a Cedar Falls man was struck and killed by a train in that city last week.
According to police, on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at approx. 12:30 PM, Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire Rescue were called to the train tracks behind the Residential Facility, 610 East 6th Street, Waterloo, IA on report of a subject run over by the train.
The victim was identified as Eli Alexander Ostby, age 37, of Cedar Falls. No foul play suspected.
Ostby is survived by an ex-wife, two young daughters and a son.
