CHARLES CITY – You can support youth mentoring in Charles City by participating in the annual Full Moon 5K this Friday in Charles City.
Join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa for the 5th Annual Full Moon 5K this Friday, May 12th. The event will begin and end at Wildwood Park and Golf Course in Charles City and is for runners and walkers of all levels. The race starts promptly at 8:30PM. The pre-registration fee through May 11th is $25 and the registration fee is $30 on race day. Children ages 2 and under are free. Registration includes chip-timing by glow gear, a dri-fit t-shirt (while supplies last), a swag bag, and refreshments at the finish line.
Don’t like to walk or run, but you’re still interested in supporting the Full Moon 5K? Volunteer opportunities are available. Volunteer duties range from cheering on our participants to helping with event registration. Volunteers have just as much fun as those that run and walk! If interested in volunteering, visit http://www.iowabigs.org/fullmoon5k to sign up. To pre-register, visit http://www.iowabigs.org/fullmoon5k or stop by the Big Brothers Big Sisters office in Floyd County, located at the Floyd County Courthouse, on Wednesday May 10th from 2PM-6PM to register in person.
All proceeds of the event directly support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa and the Floyd County relationships to children facing adversity. Those relationships change children’s lives for the better, forever.
The event is sponsored by Cambrex, Central Park Dentistry, Cedar Health Services, Bayou Bend, and Saxony.
