5 Great Ways to Celebrate a Birthday in Orlando

Living in Orlando, there are so many great ways to enjoy yourself that it can be difficult to choose what to do on a birthday.

Here are a few suggestions.

1. Disney’s Key to the Kingdom

Have you ever wanted to get a rare glimpse behind the scenes to see how Disney runs their Walt Disney World Resort? Well it is actually possible by buying the Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour package. Running for 5 hours, view the Magic Kingdom behind the scenes, enter the underground service tunnels, and learn all about the famous mouse, Mickey. As this is an extra activity, a park admission is also required to take this tour. Therefore, the birthday party can enjoy the Magic Kingdom Park during the day and those who want to can go on the behind the scenes tour can do so.

For kids who have a birthday, let Guest Relations at Disney know that their birthday is today and they’ll receive a complementary personalized birthday button. Disney characters are also likely to approach and add something extra fun for the child when they spot their birthday button.

2. GatorLand!

GatorLand makes for a fun trip for the family when celebrating the birthday of one of the members of the group. Take a thrill ride on the Screamin’ Gator Zip Line to get your heart racing. View an animal show to get closer up to the live animals at GatorLand. See the many alligators and crocodiles including rare white alligators. From December 20, 2015, Florida residents also benefit from a 50 percent discount offer.

There are several tours available during the daytime and one in the evening. These include the aforementioned zip line, “Adventure Hour” which involves a one hour trip deep into the swamp, become a reptile trainer for a day, or get a glimpse of what happens in the swamp when the sun goes down with the “Gator Night Shine” tour.

3. Birthday Party in Orlando

Making best use of a back yard, it is possible to rent some cool equipment for an Orlando birthday party. The quad jumper trampoline lets up to four people use the trampoline at the same time. A 50-foot Ferris Wheel can be set up which can hold 24 people. The Tropical Vortex 43-foot water slide includes a winding 360 degree turn and a tunnel of darkness before ejecting the passenger out the other end; ideal for anyone with a swimming pool to fall into the shallow end. There is also the option to add a bouncy castle or bouncy house where the kids can have fun bouncing around safely.

4. Yellow Dog Eats

The Yellow Dog Eats restaurant actually has two locations. One is a straight restaurant in Gotha, Florida and the other is a restaurant and bar in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Both open at 11AM, so they’re ideal for a lunch or dinner. The delicious eats include “The Nacho Pig” (pulled pork, black beans, tortilla chips, and scallions) and “The Little Cheeser” (pulled pork, cheddar jack, and blue cheese).

5. Farris and Foster’s Famous Chocolate Factory

The Farris and Foster’s Famous Chocolate Factory is an ideal location for a birthday. Indulge in many kinds of delicious chocolate treats and also buy a few treats in the gift shop before heading home.

Whether you like to eat out, stay active or go behind the scenes at Disney, you’re sure to find one of our suggestions right for you.
