At 10PM Saturday evening, July 13th, one of the greatest travesties ever to have occurred in America took place. George Zimmerman was found not guilty of murdering Trayvon Martin.
This “was” 17 year old youth, a child who was walking home, not bothering anyone, did nothing wrong, had no police record and had every right to be where he was. This tells us all that if you’re black you are not safe on the street after dark….it says you can be legally shot to death with impunity. This “used” to be America….oh, I forgot, it IS America, only a America wrapped tightly in a big white sheet.
What took place last night in Stanford, Florida shook my faith to the very core; when the verdict was read aloud and the words not guilty came across the room, I was immediately overwhelmed with a profound sadness. I distinctly remember this Northern section of this country and the unbelievable prejudice that was present in my own community….now this verdict tells me we are still where we started.
Racists from across the entire U.S sent Zimmerman in excess of $700,000.00 to afford a smoke and mirror team of litigators he otherwise couldn’t have afforded. And even at that, he tried to hide that money by putting it other accounts. The fact that the money was sent….by itself tells me how wide spread this cancer is. I know where I am at, I know where I live and I expect a deluge of “anonymous” response….but none of which will step in front of that white sheet and write their real name.

Disturbing. Very disturbing. Between the threats of violence, outright lies and twisted attempts to justify yourselves, a surprising number of you really do not believe you are racist frightened ignorant people.
If Zimmerman had stayed where he was and let the cops handle this “scary black guy” none of this would have happened. But he just couldn’t do it. He had to go stalk him and scare him – regardless of whether Martin was good or bad – and caused this whole incident. Zimmerman did. If Martin was a bad guy, let the cops deal with him. If Martin was a good guy, he’d be alive to eat more skittles.
It’s ALL Zimmerman’s fault. For you people to try and blame the victim is just shocking. And to try to make this less egregious by bringing up other unrelated cases is ridiculous.
If you don’t see that Zimmerman is 100% to blame for starting this, you are lying. And if you are lying, it’s because you are racist.
Nationwide boycotts have already taken place against the entire state. Pressure will be brought to bear that will prevail in the end. It won’t be overnight but it will happen. We’re are the bushes? He lied about the money to begin with…then he lied about everything else.
Nation wide boycotts by about 1/2% of the black population and they are just rabble rousers like Sharpton. There have been just as many reputable blacks that have spoken out against Martin. Why don’t you talk about them? He was a trouble making thug who got what he deserved when he attacked a man with a gun. All he had to do was act normal and he would have been fine. There is a double standard in this country and people are getting tired of it. Kaul is a fool and so is anyone who believes his B.S.
Several major U.S. corporations have canceled the conventions they had planned to be held in Florida this coming winter. The boycotts I am refering to have little to do with the black community. The thems parks so popular already are noticing fewer booking and tourism across the state is expected to suffer.
Personally I think people are afraid to go there for fear of being killed by people of Zimmerman’s ilk. Towards the end of the month I expect to fly into Tampa on business….I just might want to re-think that.

What “ground” was Zimmerman standing? Nobody was attacking him. HE WAS STALKING MARTIN. If anyone had a right to shoot first and ask questions later, it was Martin. What would YOU do if some freak was sneaking along behind you, following you?
What bothers me is that all you know it alls know exactly what happened, what Zimmerman was thinking, what martin was thinking, what actually happened there that night. Even though your story is different than zimmermans story and he was the only witness that was there at the beginning. The media covered what they wanted to cover, they ignored the criminal background of martin. The FBI did a preliminary investigation and discovered that Zimmerman should not be tried, yet he was and found NOT GUILTY. Unless you were there and heard every word and saw what really happened pardon me if I think that you want Zimmerman linched because Obama wanted Zimmerman in jail. So much for law and order, not guilty by his peers doesn’t mean sh#t anymore I guess.
You know what, though, Maybe? If Zimmerman had stayed in his car like the dispatcher told him to, we wouldn’t have had to worry about whether Martin was a murderer or a meter man! That’s the point! I don’t know OR CARE if they were scared or happy! I’m saying ZIMMERMAN CAUSED THIS. The fact that a jury found him not guilty does NOT mean he is innocent. It only means he is legally not guilty. He started this whole ball rolling and he is guilty as sin of causing this mess.
according to Zimmerman and the police dispatch he was already out of his car and following martin when the dispatch told him not to. Ok I will give you that if Zimmerman hadn’t followed martin that martin wouldn’t have attacked Zimmerman so placing all the blame on 1 guy when it takes 2 to tango is assinine. Noticed I said when martin attacked Zimmerman causing Zimmerman to shoot martin.
And just think – if Zimm had kept his ass in the car LIKE HE WAS TOLD, Martin wouldn’t have anybody to attack. 100% Zimmerman’s fault. Everything that happened was caused by ZIMMERMAN.
The evidence showed that he was already out of the car when he made the call to 911. Let me ask you a question, lets say a boy and a girl go out on a date and they have sex, they both wanted it but she got pregnant, is it ONLY his fault that she got pregnant? Maybe zimmerman used poor judgement by continuing to follow martin but martin attacked zimmerman, is it zimmermans fault that he was attacked? Every person has a will and has to make their own decisions, good or bad. By you accusing zimmerman because martin attacked him you are saying that martin had every right to violently attack zimmerman because he was being followed. If thats what you are saying the you need some help.

Now after less then a dozen days we are beginning to see the repercussions surrounding the Zimmerman trial. Chances are good that ” stand your ground” law will be abolished as a license to kill. Read Donald Kaul in today’s Globe-gazette….it says a lot….a hell of a lot. Once more it makes perfect sense. There were no bushes from which to jump out of.
Now Zimmerman is in hiding, maybe for the rest of his life. This guy wouldn’t last 48 hours in any prison on earth….and his legal problems are just starting. What does all this tell us? It tells me that Jesus hands down the final verdict.

Just because I live in a state that is 96% white doesn’t mean I have to be afraid of the bigots. Iowa is part of the United States. The president said it right; he said there is a big difference between the law and what real justice is.

It could be said Zimmerman was over zealous. But maybe not. A greater fact exists. Martin took the oportunity to have a confrontation. A physical attack is a bigger thing than being stopped for questioning. Martin’s own anger killed him.

With the history of the neighborhood having a series of break-ins, anyone walking through the neighborhood that hour of the night would be bothersome. That is just common sense.
If you or anybody was out walking through my neighborhood late at night I would keep an eye on you also. That is just common sense. People out walking around late at night are automatically suspect. More than once over the years my dog has barked at someone outside after 10:00PM and I have went out to find a bunch of young adults walking down the road. After following them I found some breaking into homes. The Police caught them. Usually they just walk through.

If Travon Martin felt threatened in some manor he had a phone to call 911, he was on the phone to friend which told him to run, run, run. He had the option to continue down his path and go home with his skittles.
Instead Travon Martin became involved in a fight that I believe he started. This time he bit off more than he could chew. There is nothing in any of the evidence that Zimmerman did anything to provoke Travon Martin. Following and observing someones actions is not a crime. As a neighborhood watch captain he was doing what he should. The fact that the police dispatch advised him not to follow doesn’t mean he was bound by that. With all the break-ins it is understandable why Zimmerman continued to follow Martin.
Now that we know what Travon Martins past history is, it is not a stretch to conclude he was also casing the neighborhood for future break-ins.
Also, don’t forget he had marijuana in his system. That causes paranoia and I am sure contributed to Travon Martin’s bad behaviour.
At the end of the day Travon Martin is no martyr.

All information in these investigations should have been presented to the Jury and the American People.

I did read the material you provided. By the looks of it Trayvon appeared to be headed in the wrong direction. But Watch Dog, if we shot and killed everyone who appeared heading in that same direction, millions would be dead. Zimmerman had no right to follow this kid, the police told him to stay in his car…that should have been the end of it right there. All Trayvon was doing was walking, he was bothering no one; he had a 100% right to be where he was and was not taking off window screens or causing trouble. Geoge left the house with a gun, his language told us what he thought of blacks. He belongs locked up for a long time.

Peter, he may not have had a record with the police department (I’m not positive on that factoid), but he was not an innocent child by any stretch of the imagination.

I really hope you’ll follow this link and READ ALL OF IT. Especially the part of the story that states that Martin had a backpack that contained at least 12 items that matched items in recent burglary reports and burglary tools. Read the part that states the schools internal police force didn’t file a criminal report with the local PD because school policy says not to file criminal reports on black male students. Why would they do that? So they can make their school look better on paper to gain state funding!

I do see some good things coming out of this. We need some rules.
First of all if you are going to be in a Neighborhood Watch Program and be visible, you should have some kind of uniform on. Second, if you are going to be covert and watch for crime, you can’t engage.

I do not think it is illegal for gun permit holders to imbibe alcoholic beverages while a gun is on their person. I think it only becomes illegal when someone carrying a gun becomes intoxicated.

My Voice is correct. It IS legal to carry a firearm into a bar, unless the bar owner has posted a sign that states that firearms are not allowed. You ARE allowed to consume alcohol while carrying a firearm, however the law is the same for that as it is for driving your car or walking home from the bar. Your BAC must be below 0.08 or you are considered legally intoxicated, at which point you cannot drive, walk home, or carry your firearm.

Are you kidding me, Peter? Do you know how a trial works? Of course it wasn’t a jury of Trayvon’s peers, Trayvon wasn’t the one on trial! It needs to be a jury of Zimmerman’s peers! They jury was selected from a random pool of people. Both the defense and the prosecution had their chances to remove or select the jurors. It was the same process used as if YOU were on trial and needed a jury. For crying out loud, if you are going to spout off, make sure you know what you’re talking about before you do so. If anyone was a racist in this instance it was you Peter. Zimmerman is half Mexican which makes him Hispanic. Race had nothing to do with it. Martin “who was a adult” as his actions proved, attacked Zimmerman and he paid for it with his life. If people like you were not enabling these people all of the time possibly he would have walked away and still been alive today. The prosecution had no proof, no witnesses and no case. @anonymoius-OK. I know that and have tried to tell people on here that before. I have traveled extensively in Mexico and other parts of South America and have seen lots of blue eyed blonds in my travels. Mexico City for example has lots of Jewish and other people of European decent that are citizens there. Mexican is not a race and neither is Hispanic. It is a region where people come from. In Mexico the Indians are second class and really have no status.
