Charles City woman hurt in crash Friday afternoon

ambulanceMASON CITY – A Charles City woman rolled her vehicle Friday afternoon outside Mason City, sending her to a hospital.

On Friday, October 28, 2016 at about 4:15 PM, the Cerro Gordo Sheriffs Office responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover at mile marker 183 Westbound on Hwy 18 just South of Mason City.

Susan Jespersen, age 68 of Charles City, was exiting at this location when she went onto the shoulder and overcorrected, causing her 2004 Honda CRV to roll multiple times. The driver was wearing her seat belt and was not ejected.

Jespersen was transported by Mason City Fire Medics to Mercy Hospital to be evaluated.

The accident remains under investigation.

Assisting the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was Mason City Fire Department and Mason City Fire Medics.

    Without seatbelts she would have been ejected and dead for sure.
