Singer R. Kelly charged with prostitution of teen in Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS – Singer R. Kelly, has been charged with two counts of prostitution with a person under 18, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced at a news conference Monday.

Kelly, whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, has already been charged in state court in Illinois and indicted on federal charges in New York City. As a result, it is unclear when Kelly might make a first appearance in Hennepin County.

“It is despicable that Mr. Kelly used his fame in order to prey on underaged girls,” Freeman said. “While there are more numerous charges in the Illinois and federal cases, we wanted to make sure that our victim here in Minneapolis also receives a measure of justice. We fully expect that at some future date, Mr. Kelly will have to account for his actions in Hennepin County.”

According to the criminal complaint, the woman contacted police in January to report an incident that occurred the day of Kelly’s concert on July 11, 2001. She was 17 at the time.

The victim first saw Kelly at City Center where fans were getting his autograph. When he signed an autograph for her, he included a telephone number. The young woman called the number and was directed to a downtown Minneapolis hotel, the complaint states.

When she entered the hotel, a man who appeared to be a staff member of Kelly’s, brought her to the entertainer’s suite. A short time later, Kelly entered the room and they engaged in some small talk. Then Kelly gave her $200 to dance. He helped take off her clothes and then took off his clothes.

As she danced over him in his bed, Kelly touched her all over her body, including her vagina and her breasts. When it was over, Kelly said he would see her again at the concert that night. She was included on Kelly’s guest list and watched the show very close to the stage, according to the complaint. She would not have been able to get into the 18+ concert with a standard ticket.

The Minneapolis police investigator also spoke to the woman’s brother, who said he was surprised to see her at the concert, much less that close to the stage. He said his sister had no money for such a ticket, the complaint states. His sister told him she had gone to Kelly’s room and danced for him for money. She did not go into detail and her brother did not press her because she seemed uncomfortable discussing the matter.

I don’t care what color he is, and I don’t care what color the victims were. Kelly is a drug-dealing, pimp/pedo. He should go to jail forever.

It’s strange how those young girls were all dressed upped and looking like mini R Kellies. Twisted sexuality from a demented soul with influence and money. Sick in the head.
