Roxie Belle Stevens, 94, devoted volunteer and family matriarch, passes away

ESTHERVILLE — Roxie Belle Stevens, 94, whose long life was centered on family, faith and service to others, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Accura HealthCare in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel, 401 N. Seventh St. in Estherville. Her funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.

ESTHERVILLE — Roxie Belle Stevens, 94, whose long life was centered on family, faith and service to others, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Accura HealthCare in Spirit Lake.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel, 401 N. Seventh St. in Estherville.

Her funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.

Born March 17, 1932, in Rodman, Iowa, Roxie was the daughter of Lloyd and Hazel (Carr) McClelland. She graduated from Emmetsburg High School and married Milo Stevens on Nov. 6, 1952. Together, they raised four children: David, Jeffrey, Nancy and Barbara.

Roxie found happiness in life’s familiar pleasures, including crocheting, reading and playing bingo. She was a member of Cornerstone Global Methodist Church in Estherville and the Graettinger American Legion Auxiliary.

Her concern for others was reflected in her volunteer work with Meals on Wheels, where she helped serve members of her community.

Roxie leaves behind her son, Jeffrey Stevens and his wife, Carolyn, of Wallingford; daughter, Barbara Stevens of Algona; daughter-in-law, Corann Stevens; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milo; children, Nancy Stevens and David Stevens; granddaughter, Nicole Jensen; her parents; and siblings Geneva Carlson, Irene Foster, Iva Boggess, Mona Sanders and Bob McClelland.
