Boondoggles like Blue Zones, which try to teach people to be less fat, and Micro-Enterprise, which requires taxpayers to pay for candy bars and sidewalks for businesses that are not hiring anyone, are just more garbage from this council and mayor and are taking Mason City nowhere but into the red ink.
The title speaks for itself. The city wants out of the garbage collection business, a vital service, but will pursue a hair-brained scheme like bottling tap water for sale. If Janet Solberg thinks it’s a good idea, you know we are screwed.
