Todd Blodgett Opinion: TRUMP’s IMPENDING VICTORY

The writer George Sayantana said, “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” In the very near future, astute Democrats may realize, belatedly, that they should’ve heeded Sayantana’s wisdom. Having predicted Donald Trump’s 2016 victory months in advance, it’s apparent to me that Team Biden is making many of the same mistakes Team Hillary made in 2016. While Jill Biden wants to call the White House home, she – in my view – won’t ever select drapes, or a new rug for the oval office. That’s because, in my opinion, Trump will carry every state he won in 2016 with the possible exceptions of Wisconsin and Michigan, and win re-election.

Among the largely under-reported reasons for Biden’s impending loss is the GOP’s unprecedented ground game. In previous presidential elections, Democrats have significantly outshone Republicans in terms of organization and Get-Out-The-Vote efforts. Not this time. Since April, the Trump-Pence committee, in conjunction with the GOP state entities in every targeted state and the Republican National Committee, have assembled the most state-of-the-art, thorough, efficacious, high-tech G-O-T-V targeting apparatus in modern times. Democrats, fearing Covid-10, ignored this crucial aspect of electioneering for far too long; it wasn’t until the end of September that they dispatched volunteers and paid staffers to canvass neighborhoods, ID voters, knock on doors, register voters and obtain ballots for those wishing one. The Trump campaign, conversely, in each targeted state, had – by mid-July – already organized volunteers and workers, down to every precinct and ward. Round trip rides to the polls were scheduled, as far back – in many instances – as September. These efforts will bear fruit tomorrow night.

Then there’s the reversed registration advantage, long enjoyed by Democrats, in states like Florida and Pennsylvania, that Team Trump eradicated or substantially lessened. Particular attention was accorded blue-collar workers, retirees, gun owners, evangelicals, active law enforcement officers and veterans – many of whom had been Independents, or Democrats. Trump is also positioned to do much better with blacks and Latinos than he did against Clinton. In Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, such voters can – and in my view, WILL – prove decisive Tuesday night. Having worked for two Presidents, I’ve seen the need for America’s chief executive being mentally sharp. But in late October, Biden twice said that he’s running for the US Senate against George W. Bush. The man’s cognitive impairment is obvious to nearly everyone, yet, most Democrats dismiss it. That’s a big-time mistake. Likely voters also know Biden flipped on fracking and are appalled that he lied about having denigrated young, inner-city blacks a “super predators”. While debating President Trump, Biden also lied about Hunter Biden’s sleazy, lucrative, overseas deals. None of this helps him, and will, in my view, cost Biden-Harris Pennsylvania and perhaps Michigan. Biden also has repeatedly made other, unforced errors. He’s consistently said that, if elected, he’d be among the history’s progressive Presidents – which was stupid. He didn’t NEED to say that; he already has the leftists, out of their hatred of Trump. That ill-fated commitment gained him no moderates or additional liberals, and alienated other prospective supporters. Finally, there are the Silent Trump voters, who don’t like being harassed over their support for this unique President. But once alone in the voting booth, they’ll vote for Donald Trump.

Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court illegally countermanded state law by allowing an illegal extension for tabulating ballots beyond what the law allows. Should the Keystone state’s 20 electoral votes become an issue, the US Supreme Court will slap down the Pennsylvania ruling and effectively re-elect Trump. Inevitably, the shenanigans of Pennsylvania’s Justices will be shown to have been pyrrhic, at best.

Mr. Biden and his cohorts seem convinced that, very soon, whenever he speaks in public, bands will play, ‘Hail to the Chief’. But the more appropriate tune, for Biden, may be, ‘Another one bites the Dust’.
