Northern Iowa man killed in motorcycle crash

A Northern Iowa man was tragically killed when he lost control of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was thrown from the bike into a ditch. Military graveside honors will be conducted.

SHELDON, IOWA – A Northern Iowa man was tragically killed when he lost control of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was thrown from the bike into a ditch.

According to authorities, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 10:57 PM, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motorcycle accident on Highway 60, one mile south of Sheldon, Iowa. They say that 27-year-old Jeremy M. Korth of Sheldon, Iowa, was driving a 2012 Harley Road Glide motorcycle southbound on Highway 60 when he left the roadway and entered the west ditch. The motorcycle rolled and Korth was ejected from it.

Korth was transported by the Sheldon Ambulance to the Sheldon Hospital; he was later flown to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls where he died as a result of his injuries.

The Harley sustained approximately $18,000 in damage.

According to an obituary, military graveside honors will be conducted.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, Sheldon Fire Department and Sheldon Ambulance.
