Jeremy M. Korth, age 27, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, as a result of motorcycle accident near Sheldon, Iowa. Military graveside honors will be conducted.

April 20, 1998 ~ June 5, 2025 (age 27)

Jeremy M. Korth, age 27, of Sheldon, IA, formerly of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD, as a result of motorcycle accident near Sheldon, IA. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in South Shore, SD. Rev. Ken Nelson will officiate. Active pallbearers are Mark Kranz, Paul Kranz, Jaron Kranz, William Barrett, Brent O’Bryan and Kyle Lagodinski. Honorary pallbearers are the Military Vets Motorcycle Club. The family request attendees to dress casual for all services.

Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Military graveside honors will be conducted by Codington County Post #17 of the American Legion, Watertown, and the Military Funeral Honors Team of the SD Army National Guard.

Jeremy was born on April 20, 1998, in Sheldon, Iowa, to William Gates and Sheila Verrips. He was adopted and came home May 15, 1998, to Kim and Brenda Korth of Watertown, SD, where he grew up on the family farm. He attended Watertown High School and graduated in 2016.

He then entered the National Guard, serving in the 1st of 147th FSC. They spent some time overseas in Germany during his six-year stint. While at home, he started a career in truck driving. This profession took Jeremy all over the United States.

Jeremy later moved back to Sheldon, working a different trucking route that allowed him to be home most nights. In his free time, he enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with the MV club and spending time with the members on and off the bike. He took several long trips with his club brothers, making new friends everywhere he went. He also loved playing his guitars and his cats, Toothless and Harley.

He will always be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, and his generous spirit.

Jeremy is survived by his parents, Kim and Brenda Korth of Watertown; his birth parents William Gates of Watkins, IA and Sheila Verrips of Ashton, IA; brothers Corey Korth of Watertown, SD, Teddy Wood of Sheldon, IA and Jeff Warner of Sheldon, IA; grandmother Diane Brisco of Clear Lake, SD; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother Ray Wood and several grandparents.
