MASON CITY — Andrea Lynn Ammerman, 47, of Mason City, a compassionate woman remembered for her faith, concern for others and special love of animals, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Oakwood Care Center while receiving assistance from St. Croix Hospice.

A celebration of Andrea’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Rhythm Church, 21 Eighth Street SE in Mason City, with Pastor Loyd Harp officiating.

No burial or interment information was announced.

Andrea was born October 19, 1978, in Mason City to Richard and Lila Clark Ueker. She grew up in the Mason City area and spent much of her life in the community she called home.

She worked in several positions through the years. Most recently, Andrea spent six years as a safety specialist at Curries, where her coworkers became another family to her.

Faith was an important part of Andrea’s life. She began attending Rhythm Church in 2018 and found fellowship within the congregation.

Andrea possessed a caring nature and felt drawn to helping people and animals unable to care for themselves. She frequently volunteered at the Humane Society of North Iowa.

Her beloved cat, Roo, became a treasured companion and occupied a particularly special place in her heart.

Andrea found happiness in creative and distinctive hobbies. She enjoyed diamond painting and collected rocks of many varieties, appreciating the individual beauty and character of each piece.

Andrea is survived by her parents, Richard and Lila Ueker; daughter, Leah Kline; sister, Nikki and Patrick Murphy; close friend, Craig Ammerman; stepson, Chris Ammerman; her Curries family; and extended relatives and friends.

In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Andrea’s tribute fund or Rhythm Church in Mason City.

Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels, Crematory and Cemetery is handling arrangements. To read more and see the full obituary, please click here.
