President Obama to say goodbye from Chicago on January 10

President Barack Obama speaks to supporters at his election-night headquarters as he celebrates his re-election on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, in Chicago, Illinois.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As President Barack Obama’s second term in office winds down, he is planning to say goodbye to the nation from Chicago days before the new President is sworn in.

President Obama released the following statement making the announcement:

In 1796, as George Washington set the precedent for a peaceful, democratic transfer of power, he also set a precedent by penning a farewell address to the American people. And over the 220 years since, many American presidents have followed his lead.

On Tuesday, January 10, I’ll go home to Chicago to say my grateful farewell to you, even if you can’t be there in person.

I’m just beginning to write my remarks. But I’m thinking about them as a chance to say thank you for this amazing journey, to celebrate the ways you’ve changed this country for the better these past eight years, and to offer some thoughts on where we all go from here.

Since 2009, we’ve faced our fair share of challenges, and come through them stronger. That’s because we have never let go of a belief that has guided us ever since our founding — our conviction that, together, we can change this country for the better.

So I hope you’ll join me one last time.

Because, for me, it’s always been about you.

President Barack Obama

WE WON! —WE WON – SUPER !

Good riddence to BAD RUBBISH ! Non American POS.

Good Bye and thank you for 8 great years.

REALLY?

Yes, Really! and no I am not Afro American as you put it nor am I as racist as you.

No, you are just stupid.

Spoken like the true racist right wing Republican wacko you are. Thanks for helping me prove my point.

Afro American I’m sure.

You are so out of touch with what goes on in this country that is outside your neighborhood you just don’t realize that a majority of Americans agree with this fact-He did do a great job despite all of the crap that Republicans and fools threw at him..

He will go down in history alright as the first black president who divided the country, lost respect for the country around the world and is the worst president we have ever had. Why do you think Trump was elected/ We were and are totally fed up with Obama and how he tried to destroy our country. Please try to keep up Bodacious. Your time is at a end.

I am afraid you are once again wrong. President Obama has done a great deal for this country. President-elect Trump was elected because the Democrats nominated a person who had everything going against her (which included the fact she was a woman). The people who tried to destroy this country were the Republicans who vowed to do everything in their power to stop a 2nd term for him and they failed. They then tried everything they could do to make his 2nd term as difficult as they could. I am very interested to see how Mr. Trump will deal with criticism, obstructionism (from his own party) and the stress of being President. If he can get past his shortcomings, then good for him and I will support him. If not, I will still support this country (unlike you) and what we stand for but I will use my right to speak out against him. I will, however, never wish him dead or to be impeached.

Her being a woman had nothing to do with her not being elected. Being a criminal and a sleaseball liar had everything to do with it. You are starting to sound just like her.

The only person who is happy about Obama is Jimmy Carter. Carter is no longer the worst president we ever had, it is now Obama.

More fitting would have been comet pizza (ping pong) in the sewer of DC.

Here’s an old 50’s saying when America was honest and great — Mr. obama -GOOD RIDDENCE TO BAD RUBBISH.

The 1950’s? That’s when America was great? LOL

Good bye, Bad Luck and Good Riddance. Don’t forget to take your freebee wife with you. The country can’t afford any more multi-million dollar vacations.
