IOWA CITY – Another 30 car pile-up was reported Saturday on Interstate 80 near Iowa City.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, accidents involving approximately 30 passenger vehicles and commercial vehicle took place Saturday at about 1:00 PM at the 241 mile marker on Interstate 80 north of Coralville. The accidents caused complete lane blockage of westbound Interstate 80 for about 3 hours. All lanes were closed for removal of vehicles and debris. Police reported several injuries of a non-threatening nature.
The accidents remain under investigation.
In January, bad weather and treacherous driving conditions on Interstate highways near Iowa City caused dozens of cars to pile up and injuries to travelers.
