MASON CITY – A man convicted of a sex crime against a child in Minnesota who now lives in Mason City continues to have problems with complying with laws connected to verifying his address.
Julio Cesar Ramirez, age 38, now calls an apartment at the 2700 block of 4th Street SE in Mason City his home. An active sex offender, Ramirez allegedly failed to present himself for annual verification as required by law. This led to an investigation by the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office and an arrest warrant from a judge. He was then arrested on December 29 on a felony charge of second or subsequent offense violation of the sex offender registry. Ramirez was taken to the county jail, where he remains held on $5,000 bond. He’ll be in court January 6.
Ramirez – who may have up to three name aliases – was convicted in 2010 in Minnesota on a charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct against a child between the ages of 14 and 17.
