Blizzard: Great for Some, A Hassle for Others

MASON CITY – An electrical fire was reported around 1:00 pm at 326 21st St SE. The Mason City Fire Department said that smoke was coming from on outlet and the room had light smoke.
Residents were told to evacuate and all family members and pets were out safely.

Finally, with enough snow on the ground, kids and adults were able to take advantage of the sledding hill at East Park. Ozzie Ohl, was also making preparations to get the sledding hill at Georgia Hanford Park up and running, but much of the snow was blowing off the hill, so it wasn’t being used much (see video).

The North Iowa Events Center said it was okay for Semi Trucks to be redirected and parking space was available at the Fairgrounds. Pilot in Clear Lake was filled because of the closing of Interstate 35.
