OSAGE – Laurie Lynne Erdahl, 59, of Osage, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026, following a long and courageous journey.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 19, at First Lutheran Church, 920 Third Street East in Cresco. Her funeral service will begin at 11 a.m.
Laurie will be laid to rest at Oak Lawn Cemetery following the service.
Born July 20, 1967, Laurie was the daughter of Linda and LeMar Erdahl. Although loss touched her life at an early age, she was surrounded by an extended family and close friends who provided encouragement, guidance and a lasting sense of belonging.
Her aunt Chris held a particularly important place in Laurie’s life, offering steadfast love and support through the years. Laurie returned the care she received by building meaningful friendships and making others feel welcomed and appreciated.
Those who knew Laurie will remember her generous heart, easy smile and lightning-fast sense of humor. She could brighten a difficult moment with a perfectly timed observation or comeback, and laughter was rarely far away when she was present.
Laurie proudly embraced the music, fashion and adventurous spirit of the 1980s. Her changing hairstyles, bold sense of style and occasional rule-bending exploits became cherished family stories.
One especially memorable adventure involved Laurie slipping away to First Avenue to see Prince—a decision she knew would not have won her grandmother’s approval but an experience she apparently considered too important to miss.
Laurie’s spirited personality left a lasting impression on younger cousins, classmates and friends. As stories from her school years resurfaced later in life, they reinforced her reputation as someone confident, independent and determined to experience life on her own terms.
She also possessed a deep affection for cats and treasured the companionship they provided. Farley held a special place in her heart, as did her late cat, Tommy Boy.
Laurie is survived by the extended family and friends who helped raise her and remained beside her throughout her life. They include her aunts and uncles, Shirley Erdahl, Len and Arlene Erdahl, Chris Carrison, Mike and Jeanne Casterton, Curt and Martha Erdahl, and John “Eric” Bower; along with numerous cousins, extended relatives and friends who became family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Linda and LeMar; her grandparents; numerous aunts, uncles, relatives and dear friends; and her beloved cat Tommy Boy.
Laurie leaves behind a rich collection of memories, adventures, private jokes and stories that will continue bringing laughter to those who loved her.
