ALGONA — Patricia Ann “Patti” Lauck, 73, of Algona, a loving mother and grandmother remembered for her humor, optimism and kindness, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

Graveside services are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026. Additional service and burial details will be announced when arrangements are finalized.

Patti was born November 15, 1952, in Algona to Raymond Clement Goodman and Barbara Irene Leinen Goodman. She graduated from Garrigan High School in 1971 and later continued her education at Buena Vista University.

Patti and Dave Lauck were married and became the parents of two daughters, Angela and Summer. Their marriage ended in 1992.

She devoted many years to working at Exceptional Opportunities, where she made a positive difference in the lives of others. Health concerns led to her retirement in 2017.

Even while facing her own challenges, Patti maintained her quick wit and hopeful outlook. Family and friends will remember her laughter, welcoming hugs and willingness to share her time and resources with those around her.

Patti especially treasured time with her daughters and grandchildren. She also enjoyed meeting her sisters and friends for coffee and conversation.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela and Paul Johnson of Algona and Summer and Brian Morgan of Algona; grandchildren Alex and Jamie Dickens, Carter, Bennita, Barrett and Brooks; and great-grandson Wesley.

Patti is also survived by her sisters, Diane and Randy Faber and Joyce and Jim Ziska, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Barbara Goodman; sister Ramona Henry; son-in-law Ben Geving; and her cherished dogs, Peaches and Bella.

In place of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Kossuth County Food Pantry or Kossuth County Care Team, two organizations that were especially meaningful to Patti.

Lentz Funeral Home of Algona is handling arrangements. To read more and see the full obituary, please click here.
