
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer has today submitted a letter to the White House notifying President Biden of his retirement from the Supreme Court:
Justice Breyer was nominated by President Clinton and took his oath of office on August 3, 1994.
President Biden has already declared that Breyer will be replaced by an African-American woman. The Court currently is viewed as having a 6-3 conservative majority.
