Dining hall incident places Iowa State Penitentiary on lock-down

FORT MADISON – Iowa State Penitentiary was placed on restricted movement Tuesday, October 4th after an incident involving two offenders in the Dining Hall. While responding to the incident one Officer received a minor injury and was treated and released at Fort Madison Community Hospital.

One offender involved in the incident was transported to Fort Madison Community Hospital to treat non-life threatening injuries.

The visiting room will be closed until further notice.

No further information is available at this time as the incident remains under investigation.
