CHARLES CITY – An errant Charles City teen backed her older Honda Civic into a brand new Mercedes Benz, and there were consequences.
According to Charles City police, a possibly wealthy driver was somewhat inconvenienced when her spanking 2024 Mercedes Benz automobile was backed into and damaged by a likely distracted teen driver. The incident took place on August 6, 2024. At 1:34 PM that afternoon, at the intersection of South Grand Avenue and Allison Street, police responded to a collision. Police say a white 2009 Honda Civic driven by 17-year-old Mikaila Teepe of Charles City backed up on Allison Street moving southbound and struck a black 2024 Mercedes Benz driven by 64-year-old Christine Skilton, a lawyer from Nashua who practices in “contested civil matters.” The Benz was stopped waiting in traffic when it was backed into.
Police say no one was injured, but the Benz was damaged to the tune of $1,500.
As a result, Teepe was cited for violation of conditions of restricted license, a simple misdemeanor, and her Honda suffered $500 in damages.
