KENSETT — Mary K. Jorgensen, a devoted mother and grandmother who worked tirelessly for her family and found happiness in gardening, Christmas traditions and quiet evenings with her husband, died unexpectedly Monday, July 13, 2026. She was 63.
In accordance with Mary’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
Mary Katherine Endriss Jorgensen was born June 8, 1963, in Mason City to Glenn and Ethel Odom Endriss. One of 10 children, she later moved with her family to Minnesota and graduated from the Pine River School District.
According to her obituary, Mary held a wide variety of jobs during her life. She worked as an emergency medical technician driver, bartender and lunchroom employee at her children’s school. She later managed and co-owned My Brother’s Place, a restaurant in Manly, with her brother.
Mary met Scott Pals by chance in Plymouth approximately 24 years ago. The connection was immediate, and the couple remained inseparable throughout the years that followed.
Whether they were working together in the garden or spending an evening playing computer games, Mary and Scott treasured one another’s company and the life they built together.
Family remained at the center of Mary’s world. She raised three children, welcomed a stepdaughter and became the grandmother of 14. Her obituary describes her as the family’s rock—a hardworking and deeply supportive woman whose love knew few limits.
At times, Mary held three jobs simultaneously to provide her children with the upbringing she believed they deserved. That determination and loyalty extended beyond her household to the friends, co-workers and others whose lives she touched.
Mary had a gifted green thumb and took pride in maintaining her yard and tending flower and vegetable gardens alongside Scott. Their harvest included potatoes, green beans, carrots and strawberries.
When the outdoor work was finished, the couple enjoyed relaxing together in their computer room. Mary particularly liked playing SimCity and FarmVille while Scott remained close by.
Christmas held a special place in Mary’s heart. She decorated the family home with an elaborate miniature Christmas village and accumulated enough seasonal decorations to fill half a garage with storage totes.
As Christmas approached, Mary could often be found in the kitchen preparing an assortment of treats for her family. Her efforts helped create traditions and memories that her loved ones will carry forward.
Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include her husband of 24 years, Scott Pals; children, Rory, Peggy and Joseph Buchite; stepdaughter, Sierra Pals; 14 grandchildren; five siblings; special friend Jackie Schultz; and her co-workers at Casey’s.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.
