Mason City School Board to meet Monday

MASON CITY – The Mason City School Board will meet Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the School Administration Building.

Highlights on the meeting agenda include:

INFORMATION/NONACTION ITEMS
57. Construction Project Overview (Board Goals 1, 2, 5)
Dan Drefke, Project Superintendent, Story Construction will provide the Board with an overview of the John Adams Middle School/Mason City High School complex construction project.
58. Student and Staff Recognition (Board Goal 1, 2, 5)
Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services Hal Minear will provide information regarding recent accomplishments of students and staff members.
59. Blue Zones Moment (Board Goals 1, 2, 5)
Superintendent Anita Micich will provide updates to the Board.
60. Board Policy Review – First Reading (Board Goals 5)
BEM Number 55 includes Series 600 – Education Program of the Mason City Community School District Board Policy Manual for first reading. These policies are being reviewed in compliance with the five-year review process required by the Iowa Department of Education.

ACTION ITEMS
61. Procurement Card – Resolution (Board Goals 5)
BEM Number 56 includes a resolution for authorizing issuance of individual procurement card agreement with the Bank of Montreal. Adoption is recommended.
62. 2013-2014 Calendar (Board Goals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
BEM Number 57 includes drafts for consideration for the 2013-2014 school year. Superintendent Anita Micich and Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services Hal Minear will provide the Board with an overview of the input from district staff and input from the survey responses.
63. AEA 267 Special Schools Agreements (Board Goals 1, 2, 3, 5)
BEM Number 58 includes an Agreement for Enrollment of Nonresident with Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock Community School District to allow enrollment of Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock students in the Four Oaks Behavior program, with Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District to allow enrollment of Waverly-Shell Rock students in the Four Oaks Behavior program, and with Okoboji Community School District to allow enrollment of Okoboji students in the Four Oaks Behavior program. Approval is recommended.
