INDEPENDENCE, IOWA – Law enforcement in this Northern Iowa county announced numerous recent arrests for week of January 26 – February 1, 2025.
On Sunday, January 26, 2025 at approximately 11:10 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kellylee Marie Schake, 44, of Evansdale. Schake was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for an original charge of second degree Theft (class D felony) and held at the Buchanan County Jail.
On Monday, January 27, 2025 at approximately 5:15 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jason Michael Roepke, 45, of Aurora. Roepke was charged with Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 2700 blk 115th Street.
On Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at approximately 12:55 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Christopher Daniel Smith, 41, of Independence. Smith was charged with Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop near the 250 mile marker of Hwy 20.
On Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at approximately 1:00 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Ann Marie Kisner, 33, of Ryan. Kisner was charged with Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor) and cited for Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance. This arrest was made following a traffic stop near 220th Street and Washburn Avenue.
On Friday, January 31, 2025 at approximately 3:25 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Shawn Douglas Hutchens, 20, of Independence. Hutchens was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to Appear and held at the Buchanan County Jail.
On Friday, January 31, 2025 at approximately 7:05 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Devon John Davis, 32, of Fairbank. Davis was charged with third or subsequent offense Possession of Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine (class D felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor) and Interference with Official Acts (simple misdemeanor). Davis was also arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Black Hawk County for Parole Violation. This arrest was made in the 1100 blk Carter Avenue.
On Saturday, February 01, 2025 at approximately 1:20 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Brian Lynn Rhines, 43, of Oelwein. Rhines was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for an original charge of Ongoing Criminal Conduct (class B felony) and third degree Theft (aggravated misdemeanor) and held at the Buchanan County Jail.
On Saturday, February 01, 2025 at approximately 11:45 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Mallissa Marlean Galloway, 38, and Scott Nicholas Lane, 43, both of Rowley. Galloway was charged with Keeping Vehicle or Premises for Controlled Substance Usage (aggravated misdemeanor), Controlled Substance Violation (class D felony), Drug Tax Stamp Violation (class D felony), Drug Trafficking – Methamphetamine (class C felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor) and Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor). Lane was charged with Keeping Vehicle or Premises for Controlled Substance Usage (aggravated misdemeanor), Controlled Substance Violation (class D felony), Drug Tax Stamp Violation (class D felony), Drug Trafficking – Methamphetamine (class C felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor) and Interference with Official Acts (simple misdemeanor). These arrests were made following a search warrant in the 3000 Overland Avenue. The Iowa State Patrol assisted in these arrests.
