MASON CITY – A local troublemaker who committed a violent domestic assault is accused for the second time of violating his probation in that case.
Ryan Daniel Snyder, age 21, pleaded guilty back in June of 2015 to felony domestic abuse assault involving strangulation. His 5-year prison term was suspended, as was his $750 fine. He was given 3 years of probation and had to submit a DNA sample, though.
Just three months later, Snyder was accused of violating his probation. He was found guilty in November and sent to a halfway house for 60 days. At the same time, he was given 90 days in the halfway house for violating his probation in an assault causing serious injury case.
Snyder is accused in each case of violating his probation for a second time. He’s being held on $3,000 bond on both counts. He’ll face a court hearing on March 9.
Snyder made the news back in 2013 for joining other men in breaking into unoccupied vehicles in Mason City. He was given a deferred judgement on a third degree burglary charge. He was already on probation for drunk driving prior to that arrest.

Bunch of drunken stumble bums in jail, get a job you low life losers.
There are so many of these shit bags on probation and they continue to break the law. The probation Officers give these ditrbags way to many chances. When they miss a meeting or UA piss test they should have a warrant out for them ASAP. The PO’s are way to easy or they just dont want to work.
Enough is enough. Why is he still allowed to walk our streets? Damn judges need to enforce the law.
