Amanda Ragan officially files for re-election

MASON CITY – Senator Amanda Ragan has announced she will seek re-election to the Iowa State Senate in District 27.

“I’m running for re-election because I’m passionate about community service,” said Ragan. “Working for the people of North Iowa is a wonderful privilege. We’ve accomplished a great deal together, but there’s more to be done.”

“We must continue to strengthen the programs and services people in North Iowa depend on for a livable quality of life,” she continued.

Senator Ragan said her campaign will focus on bringing better-paying jobs to North Iowa, revitalizing small towns and rural areas, ensuring Iowa provides the best education in the country, and creating a quality of life that makes Iowa the #1 best place to live

Senator Ragan serves on the Appropriations, Agriculture, Humans, Rules,
​and ​Veterans committees and on the Health and Human Services Budget Subcommittee.

In addition to her legislative service, Ragan is the Executive Director of The Community Kitchen of North Iowa, Inc. and Mason City Meals on Wheels.

Ragan is also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Mason City Sunrise Rotary, North Iowa Band Festival Committee, and the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service.

A graduate of North Iowa Area Community College and Buena Vista University. Senator Ragan has two grown children and four grandchildren. She and her husband, Jim, live in Mason City.
