MASON CITY – The NIACC volleyball teamd dropped a 3-1 decision to No. 19 Iowa Lakes Wednesday night in ICCAC action in the NIACC gym.
Iowa Lakes won 21-25, 25-21, 25-13, 27-25.
Freshmen Aubury Coleman and Kaylee Whittington led the Lady Trojans with 14 kills apiece. Sophomore Karlie Niedert was next in line with six kills and sophomore Bailey Walter added five kills.
Also for the Lady Trojans, freshman Hailey Winter had 20 assists and freshman Jackie Bleifus had 15 assists. Niedert had six blocks and freshman Sydney Larsen had three blocks. Freshman Liv Block had 19 digs and Whittington had 15 digs.
NIACC (8-10 overall, 1-4 in the ICCAC) returns to action Saturday at home in the NIACC tournament. The Lady Trojans face Riverland CC at 11 a.m., RCTC at 12:30 p.m. and the Waldorf College junior varsity at 2 p.m.
