WATERLOO – John Deere is moving out of Iowa for greener pastures in Mexico, according to reports.
Numerous media outlets reported that John Deere told associates that “production of all cabs, welding and assembly, for current and future products” will be moved to Mexico. The move impacts operations in Waterloo, Iowa, where over 1,000 people work.
The good news is, there may not be any layoffs, and other operations may move in to replace those lost to Mexico.
