Mason City woman given deferred judgement for stealing from mall store

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman who faced a felony theft charge for stealing from a store she worked at was given a deferred judgement and must pay thousands in restitution.

Megan Williamson, age 22, must serve 5 years of probation and pay $4,164.74 in fines and restitution after she was caught stealing from the Vanity store in Southbridge Mall where she was employed last November. She had been charged with felony second degree theft and had faced up to 5 years in prison before she took a plea deal. She had initially pleaded not guilty.

  1. Like mother like daughter . Hell this is nothing compared to when her old lady embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars from her employer in Waterloo ! Did some jail time an never paid anything back . a bunch of drunks.

  2. To pretty to go to jail. Obviously she couldn’t afford the high dollar amount imposed to maintain beauty. She does deserve a second chance. Damn high prices drive these young women to do things that they normally wouldn’t do. Nice mugshot.

    1. WELL, she did assist a sheriff’s deputy and his wife overcome a sexual problem they’d been experiencing for many years. Judge Weiland took that into consideration upon sentencing.
