MASON CITY – A Mason City woman is charged with drunk driving after crashing her car into a farm field.
On April 27, 2023, at about 1:40 AM, Cerro Gordo county deputies responded to the area of 265th Street and Lark Avenue in rural Mason City for a report of a single vehicle collision with injury. Courtney Groves, age 26 of Mason City, was traveling westbound in a 2020 Silver Ford Escape on the frontage road in the 4900 Block of 4th Street SW. Groves went off the roadway, continued westbound across Lark Avenue, went into the ditch, and proceeded into a farm field where her vehicle came to a stop.
Groves was transported to Mercy One North Iowa with suspected minor injuries.
Groves has been charged with Operating while under the influence-1st offense (serious misdemeanor), possession of a dangerous weapon while intoxicated (serious misdemeanor), and failure to maintain control (simple misdemeanor).
