MASON CITY – River City’s Brandon Ben Ward is now serving 2 days in jail for harassment.
Ward, 28, has been a frequent visitor to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and the Cerro Gordo County Courthouse, and will be making more visits in the near future to explain himself for other alleged crimes.
Ward is awaiting trial on a serious domestic assault causing bodily injury charge after a citation from Mason City Police resulting from a November 23rd incident. A court date is set for February 12th, 2013. Ward has plead not guilty.
Ward is also awaiting trial on charges of interference with official acts and disorderly conduct after a citation from Clear Lake Police resulting from a September 3rd, 2012 incident in which Ward was tasered by a Clear Lake police officer after resisting arrest. A court date is set for March 13th, 2013. Ward has plead not guilty.
Domestic assault charges were brought in 2005 and 2009 by Mason City Police and once again in 2010 by Clear Lake police but all three times the charges were dismissed. However, in 2009, Ward was found guilt of violating a court-ordered protective order on the alleged victim and he received 7 days in jail.
Ward was also found guilty of assault causing bodily injury in 2oo2 and once in 2005.
In addition to numerous other charges in recent years, including OWI, trespassing and theft, Ward plead guilty on September 19th after a citation from Mason City police for disorderly conduct – causing a loud/raucous noise.

SERVING SENTENCE and awaiting court dates on other charges.
