MASON CITY – Police rushed to a Mason City hotel late Wednesday night to deal with a potentially violent situation.
An emergency 911 call was made by a female at the Ashley Inn, 3451 South Federal Avenue, at about 11:24 PM Wednesday day night. It was reported that a male was banging on the door to the room the caller was in, she was locked in a bathroom, and the subject may have had a weapon described as a knife.
Police arrived, and after an investigation, arrested Travis Alan Kummer, a convicted felon and marijuana dealer who has served time in Iowa prisons and the Beje Clark halfway house. He was charged with aggravated public intoxication and taken to the county jail where he was booked and soon released, pending a court date.
