Alden man sent to prison for sex abuse

IOWA FALLS – An Alden, Iowa man was sent to prison for 10 years after he reached a plea deal in a case involving kidnapping and sexual abuse.

Scott Thelke, age 37 of Alden, agreed to a plea deal on January 9. He was arrested by Hardin county law enforcement in August of 2013 on charges of second degree sexual abuse and first degree kidnapping. He pleaded guilty to third degree sexual abuse, and was also found guilty of violating his probation in connection to a felony burglary conviction. He must serve 5 additional years on that charge, records show.

Thelke will spend 10 years in prison and also be committed to the supervision of the Iowa Department of Corrections for the rest of his life. He has already been transported to Oakdale in Coalville for processing.
