Two arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s

MASON CITY – A pair of North Iowa residents were arrested for shoplifting from Kohl’s Department Store Monday afternoon.

Police were called to Kohl’s, 556 Indianhead Drive, Monday at about 1:00 PM after employees called police about a theft. Police arrested 65-year-old Jeannette Carol Lappegard of Emmetsburg and 37-year-old Todd Lee Brown of Ruthven. Lappegard was charged with fourth degree theft and Brown was charged with third degree theft. Both are being held in the Cerro Gordo jail.

Lappegard pled guilty to fifth degree theft in Woodbury county in 2012.

Brown is a convicted felon out of Kossuth county on burglary charges. He pled guilty to third degree theft here in Cerro Gordo county in 2011 and is accused of violating his probation. He made his last court appearance on October 1 and will be back on the 17th.
