Governor Branstad appoints Norm Granger as the Vice Chair of the Iowa Board of Parole

DES MOINES – Gov. Terry E. Branstad today appointed Norm Granger of Waterloo, Iowa, as the Vice Chair of the Iowa Board of Parole.

Granger’s term on the Iowa Board of Parole begins Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, and ends April 30, 2018.

The five-member Board of Parole is appointed by the Governor and reviews and interviews inmates for parole or work release, and grant parole or work release. The Board also gathers and reviews information regarding new parole and work release programs being instituted or considered nationwide, and determines which programs may be useful to Iowa.

The Vice Chair position is one of two full-time paid positions on the Board of Parole. Granger’s appointment is subject to Iowa Senate confirmation.
