RICEVILLE – According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, three people were hurt after a head on collision on Highway B17 a few miles west of Riceville.
At 1:12 PM, an eastbound car driven by Leroy Otto Mohrfeld, 84, of Elma, Iowa drifted across the center lane and struck a vehicle driven by James Juhl, 57, of Mason City. Barbara Juhl, 64, also of Mason City, was a passenger.
All three persons were transported to local hospitals, and all three were wearing seat belts. There was no word on their conditions.
Riceville fire and police responded to the scene and assisted the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office and Elma Fire Department.
