RURAL CLEAR LAKE – A Mason City man was hurt when he lost control of his pickup truck this afternoon outside Clear Lake and rolled into a ditch.

On April 15, 2025, at about 12:46 PM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a single vehicle accident that occurred on 310th Street near Heather Avenue. They say a red 1998 Ford F-150 driving eastbound and pulling a car trailer with a vehicle on it, began to sway. The driver, 43-year-old Nathan Stubblefield of Mason City, lost control and entered the east ditch causing the truck to roll.

As a result of the crash, Clear Lake fire medics transported Stubblefield to the Mercy emergency room for unknown injuries that are thought to be non-life-threatening.

Charges are pending for this accident as it remains under investigation.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Clear Lake Fire Department, and Clear Lake Fire Medics.
